Navigating Code and Leadership
Jamie Garner
About Me
With over two decades in the tech industry, I have evolved from a passionate software developer to a strategic team leader and an influential figure in senior management. My career is defined by a relentless pursuit of excellence, fostering innovative solutions, and sculpting robust processes and dynamic teams. My analytical prowess and technical acumen have been the cornerstone of my ability to devise and implement cutting-edge software solutions, ensuring their seamless integration and support.
Leadership, for me, goes beyond merely guiding teams; it’s about inspiring a shared vision, cultivating talent, and driving projects to fruition with a keen eye on both detail and the bigger picture. I thrive on exploring the vast potentials of technology, leveraging it not just as a tool but as a catalyst for transformative change, optimising processes, and enhancing value in every project undertaken.
In a world where technology is ever-evolving, my mission remains to harness its power to streamline operations, elevate user experiences, and lead teams and projects that resonate with the core objective of making a significant, tangible impact.

What I Do
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with other departments, such as product management, sales, and marketing, to ensure that the technology strategy supports broader business objectives.
Software Project Management
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Code
Analysing users needs and developing software to meet them. Evaluating and recommend new technologies, tools, and processes that can improve efficiency, productivity, and the overall quality of the product.
Strategic Planning and Decision Making
Participate in setting the company's technological direction and strategy. Making key decisions that align technology initiatives with business goals.
Team Leadership and Development
Lead and mentor a team of developers, setting clear expectations, promoting professional growth, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging the team to explore new ideas and solutions and building pipelines to deliver services at high quality and speed.
Testimonials

Jamie is an amazing mentor, who played a large role in helping me develop from a junior developer to a strong mid-level software engineer. Through paired programming, one on one mentoring, and technical book reviews, he was always on hand to offer professional advice, solutions, and best practices. Additionally Jamie is a great team leader who brings a wealth of knowledge and solutions to any team that he works with. I always felt extremely motivated working with him and felt he brought out the best qualities in all of the team. I would be more than happy to work with Jamie again in the future

E (Gas & Electric)

Jamie worked tirelessly to improve the team and their work. This included guiding the team through careful planning and execution with respect to the development life cycle for a range of projects. In addition, Jamie always worked with consideration for each client and their requirements. He has a passion for well designed, usable software, which, matched with a high standard of customer service, always leads to customer satisfaction

Jamie has a natural ability to turn a group of individuals into a team and then get the best out of them, as a manager with a development background I found it easy to discuss various technical solutions to a problem before agreeing a way forward. He understood that the best way was not always the quickest and supported me if a little extra time resulted in a better solution for our clients. He was a good Boss, I would happily work for him again.
